What is click-to-call Campaign?
Click-to-call is a link on a webpage, banner Ad, email, etc. that by clicking it will redirect the user to a telephone number instead of a landing page, so when the user clicks the Ad on their mobile, it will dial to the destination you set.
The purpose of setting click-to-call is that your visitors won't have to manually enter the number to place a call. Simply by clicking your link they will be connected to your business which ultimately leads to more conversions.
Why use Click-To-Call?
Providing to customers a click to call option is seen as a form of direct response marketing, because it enables customers to directly get in touch with your company after viewing your marketing materials - such as your assets, banner ads, emails, etc.
How to set up Click-To-Call on Retargeting Base Campaigns?
Setting up a click-to-call campaign on Retargeting Base is quite easy.
Setting click to call requires adding a phone number to the destination URL found in the general step (first step) of campaign creation form or existing campaign's editing form.
To set up click to call, simply use the following as your destination URL:
tel:// followed by the phone number (including area code).
For example - tel://17181234567
The number you assign will be dialed when a user clicks on your Ad.
Enter the number as the user would be expected to dial it on his phone, from the geographic region targeted or the call may not be successfully connected. For North America, include "1" at the beginning of the number. Mobile phones will always accept this format, even if the call is local.
Please note that we do not support premium phone numbers on the Retargeting Base platform (e.g 1900 numbers in USA). If a client needs to pay extra charge for the call, the campaign will not be approved. For what constitutes a premium number, refer to this link.
The selected phone number should match your targeted region. For example, if a USA number is listed, the campaign should be targeting USA.
